Order Picker And Forklift Operator

Pay Rate : $18 / hr

Location : Odenton, MD

Order Picker and Forklift Operator responsibilities include :

  • Accurately select and retrieve various wood stair components (e.g., handrails, newels, balusters, treads) from warehouse shelving according to customer order forms.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move, load, and unload large bundles and pallets of wood products within the warehouse and shipping areas.
  • Utilize a measuring tape to verify product specifications and operate a table saw to perform minor cuts or modifications to materials as necessary for custom orders.
  • Package, secure, and label finished orders using appropriate packaging equipment to ensure all wood components are protected for transport.
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to all company policies and safety standards.

Order Picker and Forklift Operator requirements include :

  • Demonstrated ability to lift, move, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds with ease.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift in a high-volume warehouse or lumberyard environment is required.
  • Proficiency in reading a measuring tape and experience using a table saw for basic cuts and adjustments.
  • Familiarity with various packaging equipment and procedures to prepare items for freight shipment.
  • Reliable attendance and transportation, preferably living in the immediate Odenton, MD area.
