Manager On Duty
The Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op is seeking a Manager on duty to support staff and customers in all aspects of smooth and efficient store operations. This essential role combines customer service, leadership, and operational oversight to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning store environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide stellar customer service through cashiering, packaging, and store conditioning (inside and outside)
- Take the lead on store safety and security while on shift
- Support point-of-sale operations and troubleshoot system issues
- Respond to and manage shoplifting incidents or disorderly customers
- Ensure compliance with health codes and sanitation requirements
- Support staff and maintain a positive customer experience in the absence of managers
- Communicate effectively with staff, members, and customers to keep operations running smoothly
What We're Looking For
Leadership experience : Skilled at taking the lead in a fast-paced retail or community businessEvening and weekend availability : Able to regularly work evenings and weekends, including closing shiftsCustomer service focused : Friendly, supportive, and responsive to shopper and staff needsStrong communicator : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills requiredProblem-solver : Able to handle difficult situations and deescalate calmly and professionallyDependable & responsible : Reliable with a strong sense of accountability able to take initiative to identify and resolve problemsWhat We Offer
Pay : $22.75$24 / hour or higher, depending on experienceSchedule : 32 hours / week, with evening and weekend shifts.
