Job descriptionListen, understand, and follow directions. Remain flexible as specific assignments change. Work with a variety of personalities. Perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory. Have the physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas. Lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and / or pull 50-pound loads at a time. Work in all weather conditions. Stand and walk up to ten hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds. Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record. Prior construction or excavator operator experience desired, though not required. Job Type : Full-time Work Location : Western Slope (Silt, CO Area) Schedule : Monday - Thursday with Fridays as needed. Salary : $20 / hr - $28 / hr depending on experience. Health Insurance and 401K after probationary period. Start Date : As Soon As Possible Schedule : 10 hour shift Basic math : 1 year (Preferred) Construction : 1 year (Preferred) Driver's License (Required) Compensation & Benefits Salary $20.00-$28.00 / hour Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Overview
An ambitious and professional individual with a desire to gain knowledge in the construction industry. The ideal candidate would be capable of working with minimal supervision but willing to follow directions closely. He / She should be excited to learn new skills and enjoy working within a close and supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assists skilled workers as assigned. This may include jobs such as demolition, carrying lumber, or construction.
- Operate Mini Excavator and Hydro Excavator, as needed.
- Unloads materials that are delivered such as lumber or bags of cement and distributes them to appropriate location as identified by supervisor, project plans, or specifications.
- Prepares layout area where construction will take place by properly measuring, marking, or recording openings or distances.
- Prepares tools and materials for skilled workers such as mixing cement or preparing flooring for installation.
- Cleans and prepares specific areas of jobsite as assigned. This may include digging trenches; erecting scaffolding; cleaning up rubble, debris, and trash; or removing hazardous materials.
- Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.
- Directs traffic near, in, or around work zones.
- Motions equipment operator to assist with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
- Cleans jobsite at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
