Wood is recruiting for a Project Manager to join its Operations Americas business. This opportunity is onsite in Pasadena, TX.
The Role
As the Project Manager you will be responsible for managing facility-based capital projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant as part of that plant's capital project's group.

Responsibilities
Manage multiple small capital projects, from start to finish, ranging in value from $25K to $2.5M.Engage with stakeholders to define the scope, execution strategy, and estimate the Total Installed Cost of the project.Ensure that clear and complete scopes, schedules, and budgets are prepared and accepted by the client for assigned projects.Work with stakeholders to define the project economics and payback.Develop and document an execution plan for each project which is scaled to the size and complexity of that project.Develop accurate scopes, schedules, and estimates for each of your projects.Prepare Appropriations Request documents for corporate capital funds.Assemble a team of qualified personnel, of various disciplines, to execute the project.Provide guidance to the project team to accomplish the scope of work and achieve project goals, schedule milestones and cost & quality objectives.Work directly with procurement and other resources to assure that contracts, equipment, supplies, and services needed to execute your projects are put in place and managed.Perform engineering reviews and project engineering to support your projects and the projects of others as required.Work with on-site and off-site resources to accomplish the scope of work effectively during the project.Promptly recognize, document, and communicate any scope, schedule, budget, or design changes and secure client authorization prior to allowing changes.Communicate regularly to keep team members and stakeholders up to date on project status, schedule progression, costs, and other critical or contractual items.Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all deliverables and services provided by the project.Work with Maintenance and Operations during the commissioning and start-up phase.Create new and update existing documentation for equipment and systems installed or modified as part of your projects.Complete all needed Pre-startup Safety Reviews, change management processes, and project closeout for your projects.Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in EngineeringMinimum 10 years of industry related experience working as a Project ManagerActual manufacturing plant experience and have supported at least one turnaround or extended outageWilling and capable of working extended hours or weekends (infrequently) as needed to support plant outages and tight deadline projectsDemonstrated knowledge of successful project management practices such as development of scope, schedule, and estimate and subsequent project cost controls and forecastingKnowledge of chemical or related manufacturing facilities and experience managing projects in these facilitiesAble to proactively plan, organize, and drive projects from inception to start up and completionAbility to work in and foster a strong team environment with minimal supervisionStrong safety champion who will lead the project in achieving zero incidents and injuriesA pro-active approach to solving problems and getting the job doneSelf-motivated / Self-directedAble to handle multiple activities simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated knowledge of gated work process for project management and experience managing projects using a gated processGood negotiation and meeting facilitation skillsGood working knowledge of the procurement processKnowledge of current versions of industry standard codes, practices, and procedures and their applicationProficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookGood communication skills, both verbal and writtenGood presentation skillsStrong working knowledge of SAP, Project Systems Module (preferable)About Us
