Associate Attorney (Pre-Litigation)
Career Consulting Partners has formed a partnership with a respected Injury firm in Los Angeles. We are in search of an Associate Attorney who enjoys and understands the importance of the pre-litigation process for individuals who have been injured. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a structured team that values a smooth workflow and places importance on each case right from the start.
As a Pre-Litigation Attorney, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of personal injury matters. You will work closely with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters to ensure cases are prepared for successful resolution before litigation becomes necessary. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of personal injury law and be able to handle multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with the assistance of case managers, paralegals, legal assistants, and the intake team.
What To Expect :
- Oversee and manage 200+ pre-litigation cases with support from case managers, from inception to resolution.
- Guide case managers on day-to-day medical treatment and case handling for pre-litigation matters.
- Assist with investigations and help identify relevant medical and legal experts as needed.
- Maintain an open-door policy to address case manager queries, ensuring attorney review and final approval.
- Support case managers in negotiating pre-litigation settlements when required.
- Assess cases for valuation to facilitate early resolution.
- Supervise two pre-litigation case managers.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and staff throughout the claims process.
- Conduct legal research as needed during the pre-litigation phase.
- Review and edit demands prepared by the demand team.
- Oversee liability investigations and manage the medical aspects of all assigned cases, including reviewing medical reports and treatment recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications :
J.D. degree from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law in California.Minimum of 2 - 5 years of personal injury experience, with a focus on pre-litigation.Strong negotiation skills and the ability to achieve favorable settlements.Ability to manage a high volume of cases effectively and efficiently.Excellent communication and client management skills.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus, but not required.Availability to actively investigate a caseActive knowledge of health insurance issues including Medi-Cal, Medi-Care, Kaiser, etc.Active, acute knowledge of mediators, judges, and arbitrators;Ability to determine the need to file suit small claims, limited jurisdiction, unlimited jurisdictionAbility and active knowledge to negotiate medical liens upon settlement or awardAbility to identify "high value" cases early on and coordinate with paralegalsAbility to identify "low value" cases and knowledge of when to drop / refer matters out.Compensation & Benefits
