Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Chief Engineer, the Steam-Refrigeration Eng (L) operates and maintains boilers, steam plant, refrigeration & air conditioning systems, and equipment.
This position requires work hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 6 : 00 am -2 : 30 pm
Essential Functions
Operates and maintains high-pressure / low-pressure boilers and associated systems and equipment.
Monitors pressure temperatures and other equipment parameters; performs preventive maintenance and repairs on the system and associated equipment.
Oversees operation of all refrigeration equipment and systems, including, but not limited to : chillers, absorbers, compressors, pneumatic, and digital controls, etc.
Oversees the daily work assignments of the Watch Mechanic and may be periodically required to perform the duties of the Watch Mechanic.
Coordinates all service calls to Boiler Room during hours when the Facilities Operations Call Center is closed.
Maintains required plant and work request logs. Responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of assigned mechanical rooms.
Monitors fuel consumption and verifies receipt of oil deliveries.
Competency with BMS, digital & pneumatic controls.

Management Responsibilities
Supervises the work of other Fordham employees who are individual contributors. Responsible for hiring, training and developing, managing performance and administering corrective action. Has significant input in compensation decisions.
Additional Functions
Required Qualifications : Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years working with steam and / or air conditioning systems.
Active NYC High-Pressure Steam Boiler Operating License.
Active NYC COQ for Refrigeration Systems Operator's License.
EPA CFC Certification.
Valid Driver's License.
Required Qualifications : Knowledge and Skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in BMS systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency and course training in Automated Logic's WebCTRL.
