Job description

Lewis County General Hospital, located in the heart of Lowville, NY, serves as a cornerstone of healthcare for our rural community.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team, playing a vital role in delivering urgent care to our community.

  • Delphi Healthcare has a program to help jump start your career We are looking for a motivated and experienced Physician Assistant to provide high-quality emergency medical care in a fast-paced, rural hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with our team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute conditions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and ordering / interpretation of diagnostic tests.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Perform emergency medical procedures such as suturing, splinting, wound care, and airway management.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health measures.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts, including trauma care and resuscitation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

    • Qualifications :

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
  • Prior experience in emergency medicine is strongly preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills, with the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to providing compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
