Location : Irvington, New Jersey

Shift : Full-Time | 6 : 00 AM – 2 : 00 PM | Every Other Weekend

Pay Rate : $16 per hour

Alliance Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and compassionate Dietary Cook to help create nutritious and delicious meals for our residents. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment and has a passion for enhancing the daily lives of others through quality food service.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes

Ensure meals are flavorful, visually appealing, and served on schedule

Prepare therapeutic and special-diet meals based on residents’ needs

Provide substitute options when needed and prepare bedtime snacks

Serve food using proper portion-control procedures

Follow all food safety, sanitary, and infection control standards

Complete required reports, documentation, and forms

Coordinate with other departments and implement dietitian recommendations

Maintain menus per facility policy

Assist in organizing production lines and meal service flow

Keep storage areas, equipment, and workspaces clean and safe

Report hazardous conditions or equipment issues promptly

Adhere to HIPAA and facility protective-clothing requirements

Help with inventory, receiving, and storing food / supplies

Recommend supply or equipment needs to the Food Services Director

Ensure upcoming meal ingredients and supplies are prepared in advance

Qualifications

Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities

Strong knowledge of food preparation, procedures, and sanitation

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

Capable of making independent decisions when necessary

Willingness to learn and adopt new cooking techniques

Must maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
