Position Summary

At POLYWOOD, we're building a culture of innovation and collaboration. As a CNC Programmer / Engineer, you will enhance our operations by developing, maintaining, and optimizing CNC programs and documentation. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values precision, and enjoys problem-solving on the production floor.

You will leverage CAD / CAM software like SolidWorks and Mastercam to design and modify 3D models, generate CNC programs, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure seamless implementation. You'll also trial-run and troubleshoot programs on CNC equipment to meet our high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify 3D models of components using CAD software
  • Draft CAM programs from 3D models to produce products
  • Write, store, and modify CNC programs using Mastercam
  • Trial run products on CNC to ensure proper function and quality
  • Provide documentation and prints for production
  • Implement engineering change requests to improve efficiency and reduce defects
  • Communicate and troubleshoot CNC programming issues with engineering and production teams
  • Assist and educate production staff on projects

    • Minimum Requirements

  • CNC setup experience
  • 3-5 years of experience with Mastercam or similar CAM software
  • 3-5 years of experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Ability to interpret 2D layouts and visualize in 3D to avoid CNC tool collisions
  • Blueprint reading skills, including dimensions and tolerances
  • Strong math skills and experience with measuring devices
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation and modify machine instructions with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with engineering and production teams
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation, and a positive attitude
