Work Schedule : Monday-Thursday (5 : 30 a.m. - 4 p.m.)and Sunday-Thursday (7 : 00 p.m. - 4 p.m.)

POSITION SUMMARY : The Design Engineer serves in the Engineering Department. An employee in this position will help create new products from conception to production while performing various tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")

• Makes weldment prints and piece part prints for steel fabricated trailers.
• Design large trailers that are 80,000 and above GVW. (Similar experience may be considered).
• Think of possible design solutions.
• Research whether the design will work and be cost-effective.
• Assess the usability, environmental impact and safety of a design.
• Observes all safety regulations
• Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.

Daily required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat / kneel. Work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather, including typical and atypical outdoor elements and extreme cold and hot weather temperatures. Given these conditions employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies.

Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
