Location : Clinton, Maryland 20735 (Greater Washington, D.C. area)

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1890-$2030

Healthcare Setting : High Risk Labor & Delivery Unit

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 1 / 12 / 2026 – End : 4 / 13 / 2026)

Nursing Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Call Requirement : 36 hours over 6 weeks (on premises within 45 minutes of call)

Weekend / Holiday Coverage : Every other weekend / holiday as needed

Float Requirement : Float to similar units (Mom / Baby)

Scrubs Provided

Charting System : Cerner

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience

Previous charge nurse experience required

At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment completed

Valid compact RN license or Maryland RN license

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM (NCC)

Two supervisor references

Ability to float to Mom / Baby or similar units

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Local candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver expert care for high-risk labor and delivery patients

Circulate for C-sections and assist with high-risk deliveries

Triage obstetrical patients in a fast-paced environment

Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns (external fetal monitoring)

Serve as preceptor and / or charge nurse as needed

Float to Mom / Baby or similar units when required

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital

Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
