Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Software Advanced Quality Engineer (SAQE) with a robust background in automotive lighting systems. The successful candidate will ensure software quality throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept to production, focusing on compliance with automotive standards such as ASPICE and IATF.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software quality planning and assurance activities for automotive lighting projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, systems, validation, and manufacturing) to ensure quality requirements are integrated early in the development process.
  • Define and implement software quality assurance strategies in alignment with ASPICE and customer-specific requirements.
  • Conduct software audits, assessments, and reviews to ensure process compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Support Functional Safety activities related to software development.
  • Participate in FMEAs and DFMEAs with a focus on software-related risks.
  • Ensure traceability of software requirements, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Interface with OEMs and Tier 1 customers on software quality topics and audits.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for software-related issues.
  • Monitor and report software quality KPIs and metrics throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering within the automotive industry.
  • Proven experience with automotive lighting systems (e.g., headlamps, tail lamps, ambient lighting, matrix LED, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of ASPICE and IATF standards.
  • Experience with software development tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jira, Git, etc.).
  • Familiarity with embedded software development and validation processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year. Competitive compensation includes a starting salary of $18.50 per hour with opportunities for advancement and a $0.40 per hour shift differential. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and tuition reimbursement.

    This is a fully onsite position in Plymouth, MI.
