Automation Technician

$30 - $35 / hr | Fremont, NE

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician to join our team at a high-volume poultry production facility. This role is essential to maintaining and supporting automated and semi-automated manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in electrical controls, PLC programming, and industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Troubleshoot control issues using PLC programming software (Studio5000 preferred).
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Modify and troubleshoot HMI and SCADA systems.
• Resolve network communication issues and understand basic networking concepts.
• Maintain and repair electrical controls on processing equipment.
• Use multimeters and troubleshoot analog devices.
• Identify and mitigate equipment breakdown risks; participate in reliability and process improvement projects.
• Download and restore PLC programs as needed.
• Maintain documentation and ensure equipment is up to date.
• Train technicians and operators on equipment and processes.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Work Environment :

Work primarily on the 2nd shift with some flexibility between 9 / 10am and 6 / 7pm, though 1st shift may also be considered. The role is based in a chicken processing facility with a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62500.00 - $73000.00 / yr.
