POSITION SUMMARY : Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials within or between departments according to production schedules. Manage output of job orders and maintain Item Master. Compile reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems. Perform purchasing activities of assigned commodities, parts, services and supplies in accordance with production schedule demand, cost goals and quality guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities :
Process, release and distribute production orders to work centers and with appropriate personnel to ensure production schedules are maintained, targeting on-time deliveries to the customer
Maintain daily monitoring of Work In Process (WIP) reports for released / open and redundant jobs, ensuring that open and released jobs are valid and requiredCoordinate materials management activities with internal suppliers and purchasing for assigned customers or projectsReview and maintain item masters, routings, and Bills of Material (BOMs)Collaborating with Working Group Leaders to monitor part production for improvements or changes to be more efficient and / or accurateReview work in process with accounting departmentCommunicate delivery schedule updates for customer orders (communicating any job concerns accordingly)Assistance with expediting production efforts as needed, communicate delivery changes and provide order status updatesPurchasingAnalyze, coordinate, and maintain purchase requirements through the Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system to meet customer requirements
Evaluate current suppliers for the price, quality, and delivery of assigned itemsMeet with suppliers for negotiations, evaluations, and quality / delivery / pricing performance metricsManage supplier quality to include returns, non-conformances, corrective actions, and / or other issuesWork with Quality personal to address supplier quality concerns / issuesAssist with Requests for Quotes (RFQ)Work with Accounting to resolve invoice and price discrepanciesAdditional Skills and Responsibilities :
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferredThree years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environmentSolid knowledge of Production Planning, Inventory Control, ERP Management and Procurement requiredPrevious experience in Medical and Aerospace industries preferredStrong PC skills and experience using ERP SystemsWell organized with a keen sense of urgency; ability to multi-task, handle pressure, detail and deadline orientedAbility to read / understand mechanical drawingsExcellent verbal and written communication skills requiredAbility to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and / or noisy areas)Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects and tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearingPhysically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable resultsAdhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Safety Health and Safety Policy
