Patient Throughput Expert
Patient throughput expert - efficient in scheduling, admission, registration, financial counseling, insurance requirements, eligibility and authorization process. Staffs to volume, trends data to make changes to improve patient throughput, and directly engages to improve patient experience and staff retention. Develops strategic plans and goals / outcomes to achieve for the unit. Identifies key performance indicators and develops measurement / monitoring / reporting tools. Manages multiple Cost Centers as demonstrated by volume management and staffing needs; has flexibility to cross train and manage a 24 / 7 operation.
Responsible for the first impression of Arkansas Children's; performs intermediate functions relative to scheduling and registration for outpatient clinics including complete and accurate demographic and insurance information. Supports the Access supervisor.
Has advanced training and knowledge of responsibilities for patient throughput process using technology and physical flow process improvements. This includes processing and managing referrals, price estimates, primary care physician sign-ups, insurance verifications, financial counseling, scheduling, registration and patient experience.
Working team member who can validate / coordinate the work of others and is a knowledgeable resource for other team members. Efficiently maintains communication and provides assistance to ancillary staff for flow operations.
Identifies deviations, understands the cause and resolves issues.
Manages compliance and monitors proper documentation for regulatory compliance standards. Plans, implements, evaluates and reports strategic improvement activities. Leads and conducts Human Resource management.
Completes registration and discharge activities, including co-payment collection, My Chart activation, insurance verification, etc. Ensure financial counseling is incorporated into patient flow. Assists Outpatient Prior-Authorization with attaching referrals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
