Job Details

  • The MS / Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures.
  • The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care.
  • Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education.
  • Delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available.
  • Provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.
  • Must have telemetry experience to apply.
  • This is a float pool position - must be willing to float between departments and the following four facilities : Northwest Medical Center, Oro Valley Hospital, Northwest Houghton, and Northwest Sahuarita.

    • Job Requirements

  • Arizona state nursing license required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience.

    • Schedule Information

  • Night shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM, 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
  • Work 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Float pool includes MS / Telemetry units, Ortho / Neuro units, Telemetry, PCU, and occasionally ED holding area.

    • Additional Details

  • Float pool includes 2 MS departments (Ortho / Neuro) and Telemetry.
  • Depending on skill level, may also work PCU.
  • May be sent to ED area to care for admitted patients waiting for a bed upstairs.
  • Rare possibility of floating to sister facilities.
  • Typically assigned to only 1 unit per shift, with rare occasions of moving to a different unit due to census.
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6 in departments, and 1 : 4-5 in ED holding area.
