Travel Nurse Job Details

Location : New Haven, CT 06510 (Connecticut healthcare jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : January 12, 2026

Facility Type : Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center

Shift : 2x12-hour shifts & 2x8-hour shifts per week (Days : 7 : 00am–3 : 30pm or 10 : 45am–7 : 15pm)

Hours per Week : 40 (full-time travel nurse job)

On-Call : Two 24-hour calls per schedule; 2 calls per M-F week (either 7pm-11pm or 7pm-7am); 1 day per week available to stay late

Guaranteed Hours : Yes

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2800-$3000

Charting System : Epic

Scrub Color : Provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (CT RN license required; pending license accepted if active by start date)

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR nursing experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I Trauma or travel nurse experience)

Proficient in independently scrubbing and circulating cardiac surgery cases

Certifications : BLS and ACLS (both required for travel nursing jobs)

Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations

Ability to take call as scheduled and float within scope as needed

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

One professional reference required

Not accepting local candidates (must live more than 75 miles from facility)

CVOR Nurse Responsibilities

Scrub and circulate for complex cardiac surgical procedures (CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, and more)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional patient care in a high-acuity environment

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EHR

Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergent cases as required

Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols

Support and mentor less experienced nursing staff

Float to other units within scope to meet facility needs
