Pbx Operator
As a PBX Operator at Hotel Granduca, you will be a crucial communication hub, handling internal and external calls, managing wake-up calls and messages, processing in-room dining requests, and serving as a key contact during emergencies. Your professionalism and attention to detail ensure smooth communication across departments and contribute to an exceptional guest experience.
Position Essential Functions :
- Answer all incoming calls promptly and professionally, using a positive tone and clear articulation.
- Accurately route calls through the hotel's switchboard or phone system.
- Take and relay detailed, accurate messages in a timely manner.
- Schedule and confirm guest wake-up calls. Assist guests with inquiries related to room and dining reservations.
- Provide accurate information regarding hotel availability, rates, amenities, and outlet hours.
- Process basic room bookings, including during promotional periods and overflow situations.
- Accurately and courteously take in-room dining orders; communicate requests clearly to relevant departments.
- Serve as a liaison between guests and internal departments such as Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, and Guest Services.
- Respond to service-related calls, including shuttle requests, maintenance needs and general guest concerns.
- Maintain calm and effective communication during emergencies, including fire alarms, safety incidents, and natural disasters.
- Follow established emergency procedures and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
- Document key information in accordance with hotel protocols.
- Support the Front Desk as needed with guest check-ins, check-outs, and message delivery.
- Maintain accurate notes in Opera (or equivalent property management system) regarding guest preferences, requests, and alerts.
- Coordinate information using two-way radios and back-of-house communication tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Prior experience in hospitality, call center or switchboard operations preferred.Excellent verbal communication and phone etiquette.Proficiency with computer systems, including PMS (Opera preferred) and communication tools.Strong attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle guest complaints diplomatically.Clear spoken and written English; additional languages a plus.Ability to sit for extended periods in a confined space.Frequent use of hearing and verbal communication.Occasional bending, reaching, standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 1520 lbs).Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards.Hotel Granduca Houston operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, scheduling may vary based on operational needs, including shifts, start times, and total hours worked per week.Location : Houston, TX
