The community you'll be caring for : 1055 SAXON BLVD, Orange City, 32763
The role you'll contribute :
Provides patients with support treatment, care, and evaluations prior to and during transportation.
The value you'll bring to the team :
Provides primary patient care activities on transport approved to be at the ALS level by the EMS Medical Director.
Assesses, plans, implements intervention, and evaluates the appropriate level of patient care according to Florida ALS scope of practice, EMS Protocols, department policies and procedures including the following : chronic Ventilator Support, BiPAP / CPAP, nebulized Medications in handheld or mask nebulizers, Non-invasive Monitoring (EKG, SpO2, NIBP, EtCO2), transcutaneous Pacer Support, non-titratable infusions, Non-invasive Monitoring (EKG, SpO2, NIBP, EtCO2), Transcutaneous Pacer Support, Non-titratable infusions, Blood Products, Previously established Chest Tubes, drains, tubes, ostomies, wound vac, etc.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments, as appropriate.
Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical interventions.
Inspects and maintains equipment to ensure the safety of transport team members, patients, and the general public.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
One year of medical emergency experience.
Graduated from a Paramedic program.
American Heart - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Paramedic license required from the respective state board and / or respective state equivalent
Preferred qualification :
Associates of Science in health-related field.
One year of experience in emergency vehicle operations.
Ambulance transport experience.
American Heart - Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification.
Valid Class E State Driver's License, or Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and driving record in accordance with facility policy.
Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) or Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) (does not apply to Texas Health Huguley / Texas Health Hospital Mansfield).
