Manager, Corporate Accounting
The Manager, Corporate Accounting is able to work positively across all departments and effectively coordinate with peers to support department objectives. This role is responsible for assisting with month-end and year-end close processes and ensuring strict compliance with all accounting policies and regulations. Nitty Gritty Details :
Manage corporate accounting including analyzing certain income statement accounts.Prepare / review analysis and reconciliations related to deferred revenue.Prepare analysis and reconciliations on several asset and liability accounts.Participate in the monthly and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial reporting deliverables prepared by the team.Review / prepare quarterly and annual schedules and analysis for auditors and tax consultants.Lead efforts to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and other legal or regulatory requirements.Assists in the development of company accounting policies and process improvement initiatives at store and corporate levels.Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of accounting processes.Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including the automation of routine accounting tasks.Manage system upgrades, conversions, or implementations related to corporate accounting software, as applicable.Education, Experience, Required Skills :
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college in Accounting plus 6-10 years experience, including some retail or restaurant industry.Experience with project management and / or system implementations.Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other financial reporting standards.Proficient with basic computer applications, including Excel, Word, E-Mail. 10-key by touch required. Workday experience is a plus.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers or employees of organization.What's in it for me?
