Position : Kitchen Manager – Food Services Department
Location : Savannah R3 School District, Savannah, Missouri
Employment Type : Full-Time, 9-Month Position (School Year)
Reports To : Director of Food Services
Position Overview
Savannah R3 School District is seeking a dedicated and organized Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations of the school cafeteria and food service program. The ideal candidate will ensure nutritious, high-quality meals are prepared and served efficiently in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service to our students and staff. This position works a 6 hour shift during each student attendance day, with the potential to work additional days and / or hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and participate in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals in accordance with established menus and nutritional guidelines.
Ensure compliance with USDA, DESE, and local health department regulations.
Manage daily kitchen operations, including food ordering, inventory control, recordkeeping, and cash handling.
Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure a safe, positive, and efficient work environment.
Monitor food quality, portion control, and sanitation standards.
Maintain accurate records for meal counts, production, and inventory.
Collaborate with the Director of Food Services to plan menus and control costs.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the Food Services Department.
