Overview
Senior Bridge Inspection Engineer at WSP in the U.S. in Denver, CO. You will assist the Mountain Pacific Regional senior staff on a full-time basis with business development and winning bridge and tunnel inspection and repair work for CDOT and other transportation agencies.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and perform CDOT bridge inspections in accordance with NBIS and the AASHTO Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges.
- Liaison with client field / facility staff, lead / assist with communicating critical condition findings.
- Direct other field team members.
- Enforce safe operations in the field.
- Create or assist with creating and / or reviewing all required inspection reports.
- Ensure technical compliance with all applicable standards and specifications.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Support the Mountain Pacific Region and National Bridge Inspection group in performing bridge, ancillary, culvert and tunnel inspections in different jurisdictions as required.
- Support in the preparation of proposals, tasks, reports, and other documents.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.10+ years of experience in bridge inspection (NBIS) with CDOT and other transportation clients.Project Manager / Team Leader in CO and other states as necessary.Extensive successful management of bridge inspection projects for CDOT.Attendance of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course.Attendance of additional NHI courses (e.g., NSTM, LRFR and Scour related).Strong interpersonal and communication skills with engineering and non-engineering audiences.Self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment.Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and provide leadership to junior team members, with QA / QC adherence.Physically capable of performing continuous field work including at heights and in adverse weather.Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving.Ability to work well in a team-oriented structure.Valid, unrestricted driver's license.Ability to supervise, train, and direct work of team members.Time and budget management awareness.Proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to WSP health, safety, and harassment policies.Must pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.Preferred Qualifications
Additional FHWA / NHI Training : (130078) Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges / Nonredundant Steel Tension Members, (130087) Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures, (130110) Tunnel Safety Inspection.Experience inspecting complex bridges / tunnels for CDOT.Experience inspecting ancillary sign structures for CDOT and other agencies.Familiar with or certified in various NDT techniques and UAS applications.Familiar with or certified in rope access techniques and / or UAS operations.Salary
Expected Salary : $125,200-$213,000
