The companys growth in the Eastern U.S. has created the need for a dedicated Business Development Manager to further strengthen its presence in this territory.
Position Overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing client relationships across the Eastern New York and Greater Philadelphia territory. Reporting directly to the President, this role manages the full sales cyclefrom lead generation and product demonstrations through to closing and post-sale support.
This position serves as the primary field representative for Da-Lee Pavement Products, working closely with municipalities, DOTs, and utility clients while representing the company at industry events and on job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Act as the first point of contact for all new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Identify and pursue new prospects across municipalities, DOTs, utility companies, and related sectors.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, demonstrations, proposals, and closing.
- Prepare sales quotes, RFP responses, tender submissions, and sales packages.
- Track active opportunities, lost sales, and further pipeline activity, providing regular updates and reports.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships through engagement, support, and follow-up.
- Provide product training, technical guidance, and post-sale support to customers.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by supporting client compliance and product application requirements.
Product Demonstrations & Field Support
- Plan and conduct product demonstrations and field evaluations for prospective and existing clients.
- Coordinate demonstrations in various field evaluations for prospective and existing clients.
Marketing, Events, & Representation
- Coordinate or participate in promotional activities, trade shows, and industry events.
- Represent Da-Lee Group professionally at client meetings, demonstrations, and industry functions.
Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and opportunity information within HubSpot CRM.
- Prepare timely activity reports, including sales funnel updates and future opportunity development.
Qualifications
Experience
- Proven background in sales with a focus on new business development.
- Previous experience selling construction materials or related products is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with DOTs, municipalities, and utility-sector clients is required.
- Valid drivers license with reliable transportation and ability to travel daily within the territory.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems such as HubSpot.
- Strong negotiation, prospecting, and able to analyze market and customer data.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities.
- Technical aptitude is considered an asset.

Health & Safety Considerations/ Working Conditions
- Regular exposure to traffic while traveling between client sites.
- Product demonstrations conducted in roadways, industrial, municipal, and outdoor environments.
- Occasional exposure to inclement weather, including heat, cold, and precipitation.
Work Environment
- Primarily a field-based role with approximately four days per week spent on the road.
- One designated home-office day per week for administrative tasks, planning, and follow-ups.
- Quarterly travel to the Hamilton, Ontario, Canada office for meetings and training.
- Standard work week is Monday to Friday, generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (44 hours per week).
- Occasional work outside standard hours may be required based on client needs.

- Standing for long periods at trade shows and events.
- Ability to lift, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. for product demonstrations.
