This is an open continuous vacancy; candidates will be referred until the position is filled. Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay‑setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay).
Qualifications
- United States citizenship. Non‑citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA policy.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or an equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine, obtained from a VA‑approved school.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia.
- Residency training approved by the VA in an accredited core specialty training program leading to board certification. Approved residencies include ACGME, AOA, or other valid programs with at least five years of verified U.S. practice.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- For residents currently enrolled in an accredited residency program, a PRP designation may be considered.

Responsibilities
Administer anesthesia and provide continuous monitoring of the patient's response to anesthetic agents, including sedatives and analgesics.Perform intubation, airway management, and use various airway adjuncts.Develop and implement individualized anesthetic plans, including placement of IV, arterial, central lines, monitoring catheters, regional blocks, and TEE as indicated.Conduct pre‑anesthetic evaluation, interpret laboratory and hemodynamic data, and ensure safety during induction, maintenance, and emergence.Manage postoperative pain, monitor for complications, and provide resuscitative care as needed.Document patient status in the anesthesia record and maintain equipment and supplies.Participate in surgical and regional time‑outs and collaborate with CRNAs, residents, and other peri‑operative staff.Maintain ACLS certification, and comply with controlled‑substance, credentialing, and continuing‑education requirements.#J-18808-Ljbffr
