Roles and Responsibilities

• Execute purchasing strategy that supports the businesses’ overall market-driven strategy related to raw materials, components, purchase for resale products, and services
• Drive rapid, significant, and sustainable improvement in on-time delivery, lead-time, and purchase pricing
• Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability
• Advises stakeholders of significant purchasing issues that may impact business
• Analyzes categories and develop strategies to secure cost decreases
• Lead regular strategy deployment & KPI reviews for the purchasing team ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic implementation priorities
• Periodically present plans and actual results, strategy deployment, and KPI progress. Take aggressive action to drive performance in the areas of purchase pricing, supply chain costs, and inventory levels
• Partner with functional leaders to coordinate supply chain functions with manufacturing, sales, marketing, design engineering, and other departments
• Continually benchmark best practices and implement as appropriate
• Establishes recommendations for supplier enhancement, termination, and new supplier development
• Take initiative to develop process improvements, simplify practices/workflows, and resolve problems
• Identify sources of supply, seek out the lowest total cost alternatives and develop solid working relationships with suppliers
• Ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials on a short lead-time basis while satisfying all quality criteria
• Provide detailed reporting on market conditions to management
• Work closely with other functional areas to pursue alternative products solutions, which will reduce costs

Required Skills & Experience

• BS/BA in Supply Chain Management or Equivalent
• 5+ Years of sourcing/purchasing experience with 3+ Years management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, & Outlook)
• Solid experience with major MRP software/tools
• Clear, energetic, and engaging presentation and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly.
• Comfortable with challenging the status quo
• Ability to work with a team or independently and be a self-starter
• Possesses strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Willingness to travel as needed (approx. 15%)

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong demonstrated SAP experience
• APICS/ASCM Certification
• MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
