An Emergency Room Registered Nurse role is available in Charlotte, NC, offering a stimulating fast-paced environment dedicated to providing high-quality acute care. This contract position requires an experienced ED nurse comfortable working with a diverse and complex patient population across all ages.
Location
Situated in Charlotte, this facility features 130 licensed beds and is designated as a Stroke Center. While not a Trauma Center, it excels in stabilizing trauma patients before transfer and handles a large volume of emergent cases daily. The Emergency Department includes 34 beds with 32 vertical care areas, providing care for over 200 patients per day.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered.
- Licenses and Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred.
- Proficiency in adult and pediatric emergency care including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, administration of thrombolytics (TNK/TPA), and conscious sedation.
- Ability to care for high-acuity cases including trauma stabilization, mental health crises, and complex medical emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to a high volume of patients with diverse clinical needs.
- Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and support staff to deliver efficient and effective patient care.
- Utilize clinical technology including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitoring systems.
- Float across multiple regional facilities within the scope of practice as needed.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Flexible shifts with a 6-week cycle; weekend rotation every other weekend.
- No on-call duties; holiday work expected approximately 75% of the time.
- Orientation includes new employee onboarding and 2 days departmental training.
