Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position in an LDRP unit, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and strong autonomy.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an LDRP unit providing care for both mothers and newborns
  • Typical patient ratios are 1 : 1 to 1 : 2
  • Not a high-volume unit, with about 100 births annually, but cares for higher acuity and high-risk cases
  • Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, typically 7 : 00pm to 7 : 00am
  • Required to float to MedSurg, CNA, secretary and helping hands roles as needed
  • Weekend work required based on department needs
  • Utilizes Centricity and Meditech Magic for medication and charting
  • Role requires a strong level of autonomy due to the smaller size and higher acuity of the department
  • LDRP setting involves care of both mother and baby throughout delivery and recovery
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Navy blue scrubs are required
  • Candidate may choose between 36- or 48-hour work weeks with manager-directed scheduling
  • Professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration

  • Active NC or compact RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years Labor and Delivery RN experience
  • Certifications required : BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN
  • Experience with fetal heart monitoring
  • Preferred : STABLE certification
