Description :

As a 2nd Shift Machinist at Mate Precision Technologies , you will set up and operate various types of conventional and computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers, and complete qualification of the parts produced.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities :

• Set up and work on machines of moderate complexity and difficulty.
• Inspect work using gaging and inspection devices to verify conformance to specifications.
• Meet expectations for productivity and quality, and strive for continuous improvement.
• May train others, troubleshoot, or work with support groups as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement practices such as 5S, Kaizen events, value stream mapping or other improvement projects or teams.
• Work to achieve the work center guideline certification.
• Follow guidelines established for work scheduling and understand delivery objectives.
• Report on any machine or process problems.
• Promote a safe working environment and adhere to established safety guidelines.
• Promote quality at the source to minimize waste.
• Will work with the following tools : Micrometers to 6 inches, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches. Dial or digital caliper, .0005 indicator and magnetic base, other tools as required by the specific machines or jobs being run by the employee.
