Job Summary:
The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for residential and commercial clients. This role requires a strong knowledge of various irrigation systems. The technician will work to ensure optimal water usage, system efficiency, and compliance with environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install irrigation systems, including sprinklers, valves, controllers, and backflows following the specific needs of clients.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct regular maintenance and repair of irrigation systems to ensure proper functioning, including fixing leaks, adjusting system components, and replacing worn-out parts.
- System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues with irrigation systems, such as poor water coverage, broken sprinkler heads, or faulty wiring.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers to provide recommendations, explain services, and answer any questions regarding their irrigation systems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installed systems, maintenance schedules, and repair histories.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols while performing installations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Equipment & Inventory Management: Manage tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring that they are in good working order and properly stocked.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years Previous experience in irrigation system installation and maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with a variety of irrigation systems, controllers, and related technologies.
- Technical Skills: Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for system installation and repair.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve system issues quickly.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and provide clear explanations.
- Drivers License: Valid drivers license, with the ability to operate company vehicles and transport equipment required.
Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- JS6 and Backflow Certification preferred (not required)
- Ongoing training in new irrigation technologies and industry best practices is encouraged.
Work Environment:
- Physical Demands: The job involves lifting heavy equipment, working outdoors, and sometimes in challenging weather conditions.
- Schedule: Full-time, with occasional overtime during peak seasons (spring/summer).
