Position : Line Cook at SHIA
As a Line Cook at SHIA, you will be an essential part of the culinary team, executing the vision of our kitchen with precision, passion, and a commitment to excellence. You will work directly with our finest ingredients, helping to deliver a dynamic and elevated dining experience rooted in traditional Korean techniques and modern innovation. This role is perfect for a meticulous cook who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a mission-driven kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Execute food preparation and cooking for all menu items and stations, adhering strictly to SHIA’s recipes, quality standards, and plating guidelines.
- Maintain an organized and sanitary work station in compliance with all DOH and restaurant health and safety regulations.
- Manage prep lists and par levels efficiently to ensure the station is stocked and ready for service at all times.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chefs, and other culinary team members to ensure smooth service and communication.
- Handle high-quality, seasonal ingredients with care, ensuring minimal waste in line with our focus on sustainability.
- Proactively engage in learning new techniques, methods, and the story behind the Hansik ingredients we use.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and high-energy kitchen environment, upholding the standards of a fine dining operation.
Requirements :
1-2+ years of experience as a Line Cook in a fine dining, high-volume, or reputable full-service restaurant kitchen is highly preferred.A strong foundation in classic culinary techniques and a genuine interest in Korean cuisine and ingredients.Proven ability to work efficiently and cleanly in a fast-paced environment. Meticulous attention to detail is a must.Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic; must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.Current Food Handler's certification is a plus.A humble, team-oriented attitude with a drive to constantly improve and accept constructive feedback.Work Location : On-site at our Union Market location
