About The Position

Job Title : Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Catheterization

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Days with On-Call Rotation

Hours per Shift : 40

Experience : Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with 1 year of critical care experience required.

License : Current RN licensure

Certifications : Current CPR certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification

Must-Have : Cardiovascular Intervention experience required

Description :

Utilizes the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.

Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.

Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, and standards of care.

Ensures all documentation is accurate and comprehensive in accordance with established standards.

Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the patient’s individualized needs.

Utilizes resources available to teach and support patient and family education.

Provides education to the appropriate level of understanding.

Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.

Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units / departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.

Acts to resolve system breakdowns and engages self and others in providing solutions.

Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, manages complex situations, and delegates to other staff as appropriate.

Escalates to the appropriate chain of command as needed.

Positively influences the professional and organizational environments.

Engages in personal development and supports opportunities for continuous learning and growth.

Participates in peer review and peer feedback opportunities.

Maintains timely flow of patients and responds to telephone calls performing telephone triage of patients.
