Job description

Job Overview :

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Program Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our after-school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for students. The After-School Program Assistant will collaborate with program coordinators and educators to implement activities, provide homework assistance, and foster positive relationships with students.

  • Responsibilities :

Supervision and Safety :

  • Supervise students during program hours, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Enforce program rules and guidelines to maintain order and discipline.

    • Activity Planning and Implementation :

  • Assist in planning and organizing age-appropriate activities and programs.
  • Engage students in various recreational, educational, and creative activities.

    • Homework Assistance :

  • Provide support and guidance to students with their homework assignments.
  • Foster a positive attitude towards learning and academic achievement.

    • Communication :

  • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and program staff.
  • Report any concerns or issues to program coordinators promptly.

    • Collaboration :

  • Work closely with program coordinators and educators to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and cohesive team environment.
  • Qualifications :
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in the well-being and development of children.
  • Ability to assist with homework across various grade levels.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is desirable.
  • Schedule :
  • This is a part-time position, typically scheduled during after-school hours. Flexibility may be required based on program needs.
