Delta Oaks Group is a dynamic, 70-person engineering and construction consulting firm delivering professional services nationwide. We are seeking a results-driven, strategically minded CFO to join our executive team and lead the financial operations of the organization.

Position Summary

The CFO owns and drives the financial strategy, operations, systems, and reporting infrastructure to optimize profitability, increase enterprise value, and support long-term scalability. This hands-on executive partners with the CEO and leadership team to shape strategic direction, identify growth opportunities, and prepare the company for capital events such as M&A or private investment.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Strategy & Executive Leadership : Owns and drives all aspects of financial strategy, serving as the CEO’s key financial advisor; leads strategic planning and capital structuring to support growth, geographic expansion, and potential transactions.
• Operational Excellence : Designs and implements predictive financial models to guide decision-making, mitigate risk, and drive profitability; partners with operations leadership to optimize project profitability and operational efficiency; develops cost management frameworks and benchmarks against industry norms.
• Forecasting & KPI : Drives ROI analyses, builds a KPI architecture aligned with company OKRs, and maintains rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and dynamic dashboards.
• Cash Flow & Capital Readiness : Owns short- and long-term cash planning to ensure liquidity and investment capacity; leads financial readiness for M&A, investment, or recapitalization.
• Systems & Processes : Evaluates and selects accounting / ERP platforms for scalability; designs and implements SOPs for finance-related processes; champions automation and AI-based tools for reporting, AP / AR, invoicing, and reconciliation.
• Budgeting & Planning : Leads annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting; ensures alignment with project timelines, resource constraints, and organizational priorities; develops tools for decentralized budget management.
• Tax, Compliance & Risk : Oversees income, property, and franchise tax matters; proactively identifies tax optimization opportunities; maintains regulatory and reporting compliance.
• Banking & Treasury : Manages banking relationships, treasury functions, liquidity strategy, and evaluates capital structure options.
• People Development & Financial Culture : Coaches department leaders on financial literacy and builds a culture of fiscal discipline and data-informed decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Leadership : Collaborates with executives to drive growth, cost efficiency, and strategic initiatives; supports data-driven decision-making across teams.
