Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Combo Technician to join a dynamic team focused on Fire Alarm , Security , and Access Control systems. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to contribute their expertise while enjoying the benefits of a flexible work environment. We are looking for individuals who are versatile, well-rounded, and capable of handling multiple aspects of system installations, troubleshooting, and service calls.

You will have the opportunity to work in two key areas of the business : the Projects Division , which involves travel to various sites for installations and system upgrades, and the Service Division , which allows you to remain closer to home, with minimal travel requirements. Both divisions offer company vehicles , enabling technicians to complete their work with ease and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fire Alarm, Security, & Access Control : Install, service, and maintain systems, ensuring they meet all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Project Installations : For the Projects Division , you'll travel to project sites, working 1-3 weeks at a time on larger installations and upgrades.
  • Service Calls : In the Service Division , you'll handle troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance with the flexibility to be home approximately 80% of the time.
  • Customer Support : Build strong relationships with clients by delivering outstanding service and effective communication.
  • System Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve technical issues across fire alarm, security, and access control systems.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate service logs, reports, and records in line with company and regulatory standards.
  • Team Collaboration : Work with project managers, other technicians, and customer service teams to ensure high-quality, efficient service.
  • Compliance : Adhere to all local, state, and national codes and standards for fire, security, and access control systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Licensing : State license or NICET certification in fire alarm, security, or related fields highly preferred. Applicants with extensive experience but no formal certification may be considered.
  • Experience : Minimum 3 years in Fire Alarm , Security , and / or Access Control systems installation, service, and troubleshooting.
  • Software Knowledge : Familiarity with industry-standard ERP systems, along with solid computer skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Travel Flexibility : Willingness to travel for up to 1-3 weeks at a time for the Projects Division .
  • Technical Expertise : Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Communication : Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
  • Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as necessary.
