The Dietary Aide supports the daily dietary operations within the Skilled Nursing Department by delivering courteous, accurate, and efficient food and beverage service to residents and their guests. This role ensures meal preparation aligns with dietary specifications, supports the dietitian in managing resident dietary needs, and maintains exceptional standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service in all dining areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up the dining room, prepare food items, update menus according to dietitian-approved changes, and ensure proper place settings for all meals.
- Meet with the dietitian regularly to review resident needs, dietary adjustments, allergies, textures, and medication-related restrictions.
- Update diet rosters, maintain accurate meal counts, and provide cooks with correct dietary and texture information.
- Serve meals according to resident dietary requirements while following portion control, plate presentation, and established food preparation standards.
- Maintain high visibility in dining rooms during meal periods, assist residents with seating, resolve customer concerns, and ensure overall satisfaction.
- Ensure timely clearing of dishes and transport to dishwashing areas.
- Support staffing needs during meal service and assist with resolving operational challenges.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, labeling, dating, and temperature compliance standards, including proper use of handwashing protocols, gloves, hair nets, and PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining rooms, service areas, and kitchens; complete required sanitation checklists.
- Manage menus and preferences for new residents in collaboration with the dietitian, ensuring therapeutic diets are accurately followed.
- Keep all resident and facility information safe and confidential as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.1–3 years of experience as a Dietary Aide preferred.SERV Safe Certification required.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.Strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to service excellence.Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.Comfort working with technology; proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to build positive relationships and contribute to a performance-driven culture.Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended hours as needed.Salary Range : $18.00 / hr - $19.00 / hr
