Summary :

As an Inpatient Psychiatric Counselor, you will play a vital role in a multidisciplinary team, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to ensure patient safety and support those in crisis within an inpatient psychiatric environment. Your focus will be on delivering compassionate care and professional development in line with CHA’s high standards.

Responsibilities :

  • Deliver specific nursing care as directed by the supervising nurse, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the clinical team through verbal and written reports, ensuring timely documentation.
  • Contribute to the interdisciplinary team by sharing observations, attending meetings, and collaborating on patient plans.
  • Ensure unit safety through regular maintenance checks and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Facilitate therapeutic activities utilizing communication and skills to promote a positive patient experience.
  • Maintain compliance with CHA policies and procedures, ensuring the unique needs of all patient populations are met.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent human services experience.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Previous experience in Human Services preferred.
  • Successful completion of a job-specific agility test is required for newly hired candidates.
