Accounts Receivable Specialist
Robert Half is actively assisting a client in hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team in the San Diego area. This contract-to-permanent position provides an excellent opportunity for professionals who are detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in managing and reconciling receivable accounts effectively.
Responsibilities :
- Monitor and manage the accounts receivable (AR) function, including payment processing, invoicing, and maintaining customer accounts.
- Ensure timely collections of payments, following up on outstanding invoices and communicating with clients to resolve payment discrepancies.
- Generate and review aging reports regularly to analyze account performance and take action on overdue accounts.
- Process credit memos and adjustments as needed to resolve billing issues.
- Reconcile AR accounts to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting and sales, to streamline AR processes.
- Prepare monthly AR reports and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all AR processes.
Requirements :
2+ years of accounts receivable experience or related accounting role.Proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or other ERP systems.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data and reconciling accounts.Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.Bachelor's degree or associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred but not required.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working in sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, or professional services.Familiarity with billing systems and procedures specific to high-volume accounts receivable environments.Experience working with international accounts or multi-currency transactions.
