Job Title : Grounds and Snow Technician
Position Summary :
The Grounds and Snow Crew Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and cleanliness of outdoor areas year-round. Duties include landscaping, lawn care, minor repairs, and snow and ice removal. This role is physical in nature and requires the ability to work in all weather conditions, including early mornings, nights, and weekends during snow events.
Key Responsibilities :
Grounds Maintenance (Spring–Fall) :
Mow, trim, edge, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
Plant, weed, prune, and mulch flower beds, trees, and shrubs.
Perform seasonal clean-ups (spring / fall leaves and debris).
Maintain and repair irrigation systems and garden tools.
Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
Inspect grounds daily and remove litter, branches, and debris.
Snow and Ice Removal (Winter) :
Operate snowplows, blowers, shovels, and salt spreaders to clear walkways, driveways, parking lots, and entryways.
Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing agents.
Respond promptly to snow and ice events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Maintain snow removal equipment and report issues.
General :
Safely operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and equipment (mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, etc.).
Report hazards or maintenance issues to supervisors.
Follow safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
Assist with special projects, events, or other maintenance tasks as needed.
Qualifications :
Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or snow removal is a mandatory.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for operating company vehicles / equipment).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in varying conditions.
Availability for on-call snow events, including early mornings or overnight shifts.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Skills :
Knowledge of landscaping tools and machinery.
Experience operating snow plows, skid steers, or other heavy equipment.
Basic mechanical or maintenance skills.
Familiarity with safety procedures and seasonal work best practices.
Work Environment :
Outdoor work environment in all weather conditions.
Exposure to loud machinery, dust, snow, and ice.
May require irregular hours during snow events.
