Job Description

The Medical Surgical Oncology unit is seeking skilled Registered Nurses to provide exemplary care to patients with general medical-surgical diagnoses and oncology history. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in medical-surgical nursing, with a focus on the administration and monitoring of chemotherapy and supportive care for oncology patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Administer chemotherapy, monitor patients, and manage adverse effects.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with medical-surgical diagnoses.
  • Perform venipuncture, blood product administration, and management of central and peripheral lines.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in rotating call and weekend coverage requirements.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience; oncology experience preferred or willingness to obtain ONC certification.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration.
  • Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration and monitoring.
  • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
