Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Supervisor creates and maintains an environment which ensures Grace's investment in facilities is protected and production remains uninterrupted. They contribute to all aspects of managementplanning, organizing, leading, and controlling the maintenance work processto maximize maintenance's contribution to production.
The Maintenance Supervisor also ensures compliance with governmental regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and site safety standards, including Process Safety Management guidelines.
The Maintenance Supervisor is in South Haven, MI and reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain departmental practices and systems to ensure compliance with governmental regulations, codes, and standards including, cGMP, Process Safety Management (Mechanical Integrity), OSHA and MIOSHA regulations etc.
- Support, develop, train, implement and manage a quality policy and maintenance standards to promote excellent maintenance performance.
- Forecast, budget, report, and analyze cost data to effectively monitor and control maintenance costs.
- Assess business and economic incentives such as increased on-stream time / production, improved reliability and safety, minimize or eliminate costly unplanned and emergency work, lower overall facility and operating costs, compliance with regulatory requirements and / or avoidance of fines, waste reduction, lower turnaround cost, etc.
- Establish and implement department policies which market the benefits of excellent maintenance performance to customers and suppliers.
- Support, develop, train, implement and manage a departmental quality process which supports continuous improvement
- Manage hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.
- Train and update the Maintenance department on new policies and procedures to ensure consistent understanding and compliance.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma5+ years of chemical manufacturing experience in a leadership roleExperience motivating teams and promoting ownership and accountability.Experience using MS Office suite.Physical Requirements and Environment
Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respiratorMust be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materialsPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical fieldExperience with regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, and cGMP.Experience with mechanical and electrical codes, pipe fitting practices, and ISA symbols and terminology.Experience effectively consulting and advising a diverse audience.Experience handling multiple compliance tasks and decisions with minimal supervision.Benefits
