POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Moss' Corporate Counsel will be a key member of Moss' Legal Department, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel. This role will provide practical, business-minded legal advice and support across multiple areas, with an emphasis on contracts, litigation management, and employment law. The Corporate Counsel will partner closely with business leaders, operations teams, and external counsel to support Moss' continued growth in renewable energy, solar, and construction.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including prime contracts, subcontracts, vendor agreements, professional services agreements, and purchase orders
Provide day-to-day legal support to business and project teams on contract risk management, change orders, claims, and dispute resolution
Manage and coordinate with outside counsel in connection with litigation and dispute matters
Advise management on employment law issues and support internal employee relations investigations, in collaboration with HR
Monitor and communicate legal developments and trends impacting the renewable energy, solar, and construction industries
Provide training and guidance to project and operations teams on contract interpretation, risk management, and negotiation best practices
Work collaboratively with business leaders to identify, assess, and resolve legal issues in a practical, business-oriented manner
Travel as needed to support business operations
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Juris Doctor (J.D.); admitted and in good standing to practice law in Florida (or eligible for in-house counsel admission in Florida)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience (ideally 5-7 years) gained in a law firm and / or in-house role
Experience in construction and / or renewable energy / solar strongly preferred
Experience in insurance coverage, claims and / or related litigation is a plus
Broad-based legal expertise, including contract negotiation, litigation management, and employment law counseling
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide timely, practical advice
Excellent judgment, communication, and negotiation skills
