Responsibilities Position located in a 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a hospital setting Patient population includes those undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures such as CABG, valve replacement / repair, heart and lung transplantation Night shift schedule (19 : 00 – 07 : 00), with options for 36 or 48 hours per week Every other weekend and coverage required for 2 out of 3 winter holidays; time off not approved for Christmas (12 / 24-12 / 25) Block scheduling cannot be accommodated Candidates must adhere to facility floating policy and may float within their scope of practice Epic EMR experience required Orientation includes completion of online modules, up to 16 hours Must work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity ICU environment A maximum of 40 hours of requested time off is permitted per 13-week contract Cannot approve return to assignment if candidate has worked at the facility for more than 365 days in total At least 12 months must pass before returning as a traveler to this health system Holiday coverage required; Christmas RTO not granted No local candidates accepted Scrub color not specified Requirements Active VA or compact state RN license in hand, or pending (must have by the Wednesday before start) Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Experience in cardiovascular or thoracic ICU nursing required Proficiency with Epic EMR is required Submission of two professional references required Nursys verification required BSN preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626234.
