Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring Oregon licensure and ICU experience.

Responsibilities

Work in the ICU within a community hospital setting

Intensive Care Unit with 4 beds and a 1 : 2 nurse to patient ratio

Patient population includes DKA, septic shock, ETOH withdrawal, hypoxemia, ARDS, and COVID

Frequent titration of drips such as propofol, levophed, dobutamine, precedex, fentanyl, insulin, esmolol, versed, and ketamine

Expectation to read and interpret tele strips; unit uses Mindray monitors

Shift schedule is 12-hour nights (7 : 00 pm – 7 : 30 am), every other weekend required

Potential to float to IMCU or Med / Surg with full assignment; may assist in ED if experienced

Uses Epic for charting; experience preferred

Holiday rotation may apply if scheduled shift falls on a holiday

Telemedicine intensivist support after hours and weekends; hospitalist in-house 24 / 7

RT support available at all times

Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor

Charge nurse oversees multiple units and is available as a resource

Unit shares nurse aids among Med / Surg and IMCU

First time travelers are welcome to apply

Any color scrubs required, professional appearance with natural hair colors and no visible face tattoos

Small community hospital with MS, IMCU, and ICU on the same floor

Requirements

Active OR RN license required

Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience

Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Ability to titrate multiple critical care drips

Comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry

Preferred certifications : TNCC and PALS

Adaptable to limited resources typical in a small community hospital
