GENERAL DESCRIPTION :

Crane Operators report directly to Production Supervisor moving material as directed.

PRIMARY DUTIES :

• Perform daily inspection of pendulum control unit, wire ropes and other accessory equipment.
• Immediately report all deficiencies found and unusual noises and / or difficulties in operation of the equipment.
• Identify material to be placed into production, verifying correct tag and heat numbers. Determine weight of material and utilize crane with the appropriate capacity.
• Assist and / or direct riggers in properly securing material on crane before moving material.
• Always be ware of activity / co-workers in the area to insure the safety of all. Advise all co-workers in the area before movement of material on overhead crane.
• Follow all company policy procedures and be vigilant in watching for potential risks in the area and notify management of deficiencies identified.
• Attend all training and safety meetings as directed.
• Assist with stock checks and physical counts as directed.
• Perform other tasks as directed.
• Assist in training co-workers as requested.

SKILLS :

EXPERIENCE :

At least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with safe work practices and procedures.
