Creative Lead, Design at AllTrails
This is a U.S.-based remote position. San Francisco Bay Area employees are encouraged to come into the office one day a week.
Base pay range : $120,000.00 / yr - $140,000.00 / yr

This is a role that blends hands-on creative execution with leadership, aimed at elevating AllTrails brand design and campaigns at scale.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as a Creative Leader on the Brand Design team, setting an example and generating original, highly crafted creative grounded in thoughtful insights.
- Concept and execute global integrated campaigns across channels and surfaces including digital, social, lifecycle, OOH, film, experiential, and in-product.
- Lead the creation of new evergreen brand assets, including stylistic elements, illustration, photography, video, motion, and audio.
- Partner with Design Leadership to evolve the AllTrails visual brand and scale its presentation.
- Collaborate with Creative Leadership, marketing leads, and cross-functional stakeholders to build campaigns that strengthen love for the AllTrails brand and product.
- Make design decisions confidently and quickly, grounded in project goals, audience insight, and business context.
- Lead design exercises and workshops and drive internal alignment on principles and ideas that elevate brand design.
- Research business problems to develop core creative ideas that translate into successful executions.
- Foster a respectful, collaborative environment that nurtures a culture of creativity and meticulous execution.
Requirements
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience leading global brand campaigns, in an agency or in-house studio setting, preferably for a SaaS company, app, or digital product.Experience leading projects in senior creative roles such as Design Lead, Art Director, or Senior Designer.Extensive experience concepting and designing compelling creative across multiple mediums, formats, environments, and surfaces.Flawless execution of visual design fundamentals : typography, layout, color, form, and composition.Strong portfolio showing highly crafted design work that resonates with audiences.Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to articulate and sell creative decisions and manage stakeholder feedback.Exceptional conceptual and brainstorming skills with a blue-sky, out-of-the-box approach.Strong critical thinking, self-editing, iteration, testing, and constructive feedback abilities.Experience collaborating with copywriters, designers, and marketing strategists on campaigns and brand storytelling.Experience in a fast-paced remote-first environment with autonomy and proactiveness.High taste level and a deep knowledge of current and historic creative trends and culture.Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other creative tools; strong understanding of design systems and scaling creative at pace.Empathy for customers and for team members.AI Native : comfortable integrating AI tools, writing prompts, evaluating outputs, and experimenting with new ways to boost creativity and productivity.Nice to Have
