We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer / Engineer for our Atlanta (Sandy Springs), GA office, focusing on Mission Critical and Commercial building projects. This role offers great exposure and collaboration with our talented engineering team.

Responsibilities include :

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Preparing and reviewing calculations for loads
  • Knowledge of relevant codes
  • Editing specifications to meet project requirements
  • Selecting and scheduling equipment
  • Meeting with vendors to determine specifications
  • Coordinating with other disciplines (MEP / FP, Architecture, Structural)
  • Responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
  • Applying risk management procedures
  • Managing design processes within work plan hours
  • Delivering appropriate documentation at SD, DD, CD stages
  • Working with project teams to meet milestones
  • Developing scope of work narratives
  • Providing existing project details
  • Mentoring design staff
  • Performing QA / QC reviews
  • Managing work plans and deliverables
  • Writing studies and reports
  • Designing systems such as AHUs, CHW, HW, and energy systems
  • Applying concepts of hydronic and air side systems
  • Understanding psychometrics and energy concepts
  • Selecting and analyzing equipment like chillers, boilers, and heat pumps

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT or PE preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in data centers, mission-critical, or telecom industries preferred
  • Building design experience is essential
