RecSports Team Member Responsibilities
- Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants, and guests
- Uphold and exceed the expectations of the Cornerstones of RecSports Service : accountability, anticipating needs, attitude, and atmosphere
- Demonstrate a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a RecSports ambassador
- Take ownership of RecSports facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic
- Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding RecSports facilities
- Enforce RecSports policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction
- Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre- and post- incident procedures
- All RecSports employees are expected to abide by the RecSports Student Staff Code of Conduct that clarifies shared expectations and standards in effort to best serve our patrons, develop each team member, and prepare student employees for future career endeavors.
Unit Specific Job Responsibilities
Supervise activity in programmed and non-programmed areas in indoor and outdoor facilitiesEnforce policies and procedures throughout the recreation centers and field spacesDevelop a strong baseline of fitness and facility knowledgeGuide patrons in proper use of equipment and spot patrons based on educated judgmentOversee equipment check-out / check-in and usage by participantsMaintain an excellent recreation environment by cleaning equipment and various areas of the facilityTrack and maintain participation counts throughout the facilityCheck equipment for damage and report broken equipmentAssist program participants and facility users regularly, on the phone and in-person, with all aspects of the Recreational Sports ProgramMake referrals to appropriate RecSports unit areas as necessaryBe knowledgeable of all Recreational Sports and University ProgramsRespond to all injuries and assist in immediate first aid and proper emergency proceduresExpected Salary : $14.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements :
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week and additional hours with an approved Hours Extension Form.
Federal Work Student students are encouraged to apply.First Aid, CPR, AED certification or ability to attain it within first week of employmentSuccessful completion of department training requirements once hiredComplete and maintain UF online certifications in GET803, OOC101, PRV802, ITT102, GET811Preferred Qualifications :
