Position Summary
The Engineering Manager oversees multiple departments within the engineering function, ensuring that all design, production, and maintenance activities align with company standards, regulatory compliance, and strategic objectives. This role drives innovation, process improvement, and operational excellence across the plant and engineering systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering teams to achieve departmental goals in design, reliability, maintenance, and process development.
- Plan, direct, and implement engineering functions related to mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, FDA, and EU regulations.
- Maintain and develop the Engineering Change System and plant layouts to support current and future business needs.
- Establish preventive maintenance programs and equipment standards; oversee maintenance and upgrade activities.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Research and implement cost-effective upgrades to equipment, controls, and facilities.
- Manage feasibility studies, risk assessments, and qualification processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical, operational, and quality issues.
- Supervise and develop engineering personnel, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company standards.
- Conduct GAP analyses and recommend improvements to existing qualifications and processes.
- Support audits, safety programs, and environmental compliance efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 3 years in biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry.3–5 years of supervisory or management experience in a regulated environment.Project management experience preferred.Strong leadership and communication abilities.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical writing skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, preventative maintenance, and regulatory standards (FDA / EU).Travel :
Occasional travel for equipment FATs or business needs (potentially up to 2 weeks, domestic or international).
