Position Summary
Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescriptions , reviewing clinical information , and coordinating specialty pharmacy services for patients. The role involves direct interaction with healthcare professionals, physicians, and patients to ensure accuracy, compliance, and optimal patient outcomes. The Pharmacist also processes and resolves orders through the External Adjudication (EA) queue.
Key Responsibilities
Review patient profiles for drug interactions, allergies, and therapy appropriateness.Determine when prescriptions require physician clarification or follow-up.Enter prescription data accurately into the system.Dispense prescription medications and perform final quality assurance checks.Handle patient inquiries and medication-related concerns.Communicate with physicians regarding therapeutic interventions or prescription clarifications.Maintain compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance standards.Ensure controlled substances and hazardous waste are managed according to protocol.Experience Requirements
Prior Authorization (PA) Experience :Experience performing clinical case or PA reviews in a high-volume or production environment .Proven record of meeting SLAs or production targets.Technical Proficiency :Comfortable multitasking across multiple technology platforms.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and clinical systems.Communication & Collaboration :Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience working with cross-functional clinical and non-clinical teams.Comfortable managing phone-based interactions with providers and patients.Must explain any large employment gaps on the resume.Education & Licensing
Required : High School Diploma or GED.Required : Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) .License : Active, unrestricted Pharmacist License in state of residence , in good standing .
