Must-Have :

Candidates must have strong experience with high frequency vents, conventional ventilators, tracheostomy care, NIPPV / NIMV, CPAP / BiPAP, IV fluid management, and hemodynamic support.

Candidates must have full-time level III NICU experience.

Floating to other units is not acceptable.

Description :

The role involves providing nursing care to neonatal patients.

Nurses will work in a high-acuity environment, managing complex cases.

Patient ratios for days are up to 2 patients per nurse.

The nurse will assist with procedures such as intubation, lumbar punctures, and placement of IVs.

Responsibilities include the management of ventilation, hemodynamic support, and medications.

Nurses will be involved in post-operative care and whole body cooling procedures.

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in admissions, lab draws, wound care, and ostomy management.

Experience with extreme prematurity and various neonatal conditions is crucial.

The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various health professionals.

Nurses will be expected to work two out of three winter holidays and three weekends within a six-week scheduling period.

Time off may not be approved during the first two weeks of the assignment.

Other essential skills include medication calculations and monitoring of infant patients.
